We in the end just keep running untill we find something that eventually stops us. He is still growing up and running and fighting incredibly strong.Įventually the boy gets to the city, or where ever, or what ever you interpret it as. But the boy is still running ahead of them. Much bigger monsters appear too, these are the biggest monsters. Whole ships appear with more monsters ridding on them. The next part of the music video shows more and more monster running. (But he never stops, and wants to keep running no matter what.) (This is when he is older now, and in the video he is now cheering on the other monsters to come with him. The next line rides into this, and is saying that finally when he dies he will be a man.) In the real world people always eventually die. (This is sort of hinting at the fact that at some point the boy is going to to stop running. (This is when in the video he hits the ground running)
(At this point in time, the boy is achieving what he set out for, but he knows he can always improve. Going faster than ever and doing better than ever.) (This is the line in the music video when the boy jumps off the cliff. He is now running with everyone, everyone is really running and fighting the same thing. Leaping over others that are ahead of him, waking them up to only run with him. (The prophecy is also what he has been told all his life that this will at some time happen.)Īfter this point we are seeing in the music video the boy running with a bunch of the monsters. (The secret of who is being fought, the secret of who you are, and where you are going.) like as if we don't know where we are actually going.) (This is an interesting line because it ends abruptly. Right after this line in the video one of the monsters picks the boy up.) (When we get down, our friends help us up and pick us back up again. At this time we still don't really know who we are fighting.)īut for now it’s time to run, it’s time to run! This line is something that maybe you remember your father once telling you. (This is when we realize we are becoming adults. (We sometimes only want to hid, not run.) We all have things that go wrong in our life, and we sometimes feel like we don't want to continue.) (This is the point in the music video when the boy falls. However this is when we begin to realize the monsters we have been fighting in the world, the society we see are the same ones that are now helping us fight. They pick us up when we fall and help us keep running. In the real world our friends around us will often do this and even fight with us, or at least cheer us on. You would be lead to believe initially he is running from them, but as soon as they get to him they pick him up and help him keep running. In many ways we fight against our world as you see the other monsters in the music video. It is now time for him to find his own path.) He is trying to break away from everything he has been told growing up. He is righteous and he will be able to fix everything if he just keeps running.) (He feels that he will finally be able to do something about the world. (more of this unknown enemy trying to stop him) (If he can just get a little farther, he will somehow win against his world.) Run boy run! Beauty lays behind the hills (feeling like the more running he dose, the better he feels about everything around him.) Run boy run! This world is not made for you He is alone at this point, and he is running from no seeable enemies. In the music video, in the very begining we see the boy leaving and running, like he is running away from home, or his own town/city. We do this because we feel we need to "grow up", and our world is not as it should, or we do not know where we fit in it. We either do this physically by traveling and leaving our homes/parents, or we try to escape in other ways. It's a time in our life when we are faced with the truth of our world and we feel like the only thing we can do is run. Many experience it growing up from childhood to adulthood.
This song is about something that we all experience begining at some point in our life. It's not normal that a music video can be so helpful in telling what a song actually means however with this song the music video lines up perfectly with the songs meaning, so if you want to actually understand what it's saying you should probably follow that. Song MeaningI just have to say that if you think this has to do with genders, or sexuality, then I think you are reading into this way, way too far and your confused on what the bigger picture of the song actually is.
